BEN McCONNELL

Hello! My name is Ben McConnell, I'm an English teacher from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I love travelling, surfing and music – I especially enjoy playing the trumpet and the guitar. I first discovered Asturias on a school exchange when I was fifteen years old, I'm now twenty three and living here – I like it a lot! I enjoy teaching languages as much as I enjoy learning them myself, at university I studied Spanish and Portuguese and I hope to learn more languages in the future. My parents are called Roy and Jill and I have a brother called Sam, a sister called Ruth and a fish called Thomas. I miss them when I'm here but we visit each other a lot and they love to spend their holidays in Asturias – except for Thomas! I want to wish all of you Merry Christmas.

¡Hola! Me llamo Ben McConnell y soy profesor de inglés de Belfast, Irlanda del Norte. Me encanta viajar, hacer surf y tocar/escuchar música (toco la guitarra y la trompeta). Visité Asturias por primera vez con un intercambio escolar cuando tenía quince años, ya tengo veintitrés y vivo aquí. ¡Me encanta! Me gusta enseñar idiomas tanto como me gusta aprenderlos; en la universidad estudié español y portugués, y espero aprender más lenguas en el futuro. Mis padres se llaman Roy y Jill, tengo un hermano que se llama Sam, una hermana que se llama Ruth y un pez que se llama Thomas; les echo de menos cuando estoy aquí pero nos hacemos muchas visitas y les encanta pasar las vacaciones en Asturias... ¡salvo Thomas! Para finalizar quiero desearos a todos felices Navidades.

CRISTINA ARECES TESÓN

My name is Cristina Areces Tesón. I was born in New York, USA the 17th of February in 1978. My parents are from Asturias. When I was three years old my family came to live to Oviedo. I lived there till I was eleven years old and then we moved back to the USA but this time we went to Austin, Texas. Since 2005 I have lived in Oviedo and I teach English. In my free time I dance salsa and I am in an Asturian dance Group. I want to wish all of you Merry Christmas.

Me llamo Cristina Areces Tesón. Nací en Nueva York, USA, el 17 de febrero de 1978. Mis padres son asturianos. Cuando tenía tres años, mi familia se vino a vivir a Oviedo. Viví aquí hasta los 11 años, cuando nos fuimos de vuelta a Estados Unidos, esta vez a Texas. Viví allí durante 16 años. Estudié psicología en la Universidad de Texas en Austin. Desde el 2005, vivo en Oviedo y me dedico a dar clases de inglés. En mi tiempo libre, bailo salsa y también formo parte de un grupo de baile tradicional asturiano. Por ultimo, quiero desear a toda la comunidad educativa del colegio Nazaret unas felices Navidades.
